Some folks are Secure

Some folks are Secure, I hear, in their lack of understanding.
To be naive and have no goal or quest is frankly, less demanding.  

I've worked for most of life with very little plan or forethought.
I feel I've done all right, but stumbled to the place I've got.

It's almost like I went along and did what ever happened.
Then woke up this morning aboard a ship that I have Captained.

I know you can't plan every move and expect to end up where you head.
But a certain amount of  thought, I think, should clear the path you tread.

For now I'm quite content I guess to perform my trade with craft and agility.
But in the future I want to be remembered as one who crafted his ability.
